Project: Alpine Park.

Located on the west edge of the city, Alpine Park is designed around a strong sense of community and aims to connect people through public spaces. The landscaped spaces we have built help reinforce that connection through a network of pathways linking homes directly to playgrounds, parks, and common activity areas. Each area is planted with a variety of plants and grasses, merging native biodiversity with urban manicured aesthetics.
The North and South Green Courts each feature community gardens with raised planting beds. Additionally, the North Court includes a fireplace, while the South Court offers a multi-level wood deck sitting area.
Our most significant contribution is a large, centralized park featuring a playground, an open field, and a lookout platform with clear views of both Downtown Calgary and the Rockies. The proximity of Alpine Park to both the city and the mountains is one of the main draws for residents.

Bayside is a neighborhood geared towards active lifestyles, offering an expansion of the already extensive canal system in Airdrie. Along the water’s edge are paved pathways framed by naturalized landscaping and dotted with vantage points, seating areas, sandstone retaining walls, and recreation facilities.
One pit stop along the walkway features a rubber surface playground with picnic tables and adjacent green spaces, perfect for all ages to enjoy the outdoors together.
The newest addition is an outdoor fitness area featuring a variety of exercise equipment installations, a cornhole court, and a contoured bike track complete with a bike repair station and tire pump. This site is also lined with sandstone retaining walls and a variety of foliage, allowing residents to enjoy a picturesque landscape close to home beneath the mountain-framed skies.

Bayview was built to be ideal for any stage of life, offering proximity to Calgary for big-city amenities while still providing stunning green spaces close to home and even space for a future school site. This community is one of Harco’s largest projects to date, as we have been building landscapes in each new phase for the past 10 years.
Residents can enjoy the close-knit community vibe while exploring the extensive pathways that wind around a network of canals. Highlights along this trail include a large recirculating creek scattered with picnic benches, pedestrian bridges, unique natural retaining walls, and recreation areas. Adjacent to the future school site are soccer fields, an outdoor fitness area, and tennis courts that convert into a skating rink for the winter.
With the ongoing expansion of Bayview, Harco continues to enhance the community landscape and provide a scenic atmosphere for future generations.

At the heart of the community is a centralized pond, complete with terraced boulder seating, a playground, pedestrian pathways, and a pergola-clad viewing plaza offering majestic views of the mountains and downtown. Several of these wide-open spaces throughout the community are connected by trails adorned with Canadian hardy foliage and seating areas for gatherings.
Opportunities for recreation and relaxation are abundant within the community, as well as through its proximity to city amenities and mountain accessibility. Key Ranch is a lifestyle community combining urban convenience with nature’s untouchable beauty.

Logan Landing is designed to bring harmony between quality neighbourhood design and the nature valley adjacent to the Bow River. The sites we are building will contribute to the nearly 140 acres of land devoted to public use in the community.
Nestled amongst the houses is a modern style playground with rubber surfacing and a shade structure. This area provides a local gathering spot and is decorated with sandstone boulders, a variety of foliage, and turf areas for activities.
The largest feature we are developing is a storm pond surrounded by landscaped pathways connecting to other amenities in the area. The pond functions as a stunning water feature for the community and will be home to a unique art installation in the northeast corner.

Home to the first reconstructed nature preserve in southwest Airdrie, Southwinds aims to blend community and sustainability with the surrounding environment. The sites Harco has built here integrate that native biodiversity into functional community spaces.
One of our original installations in this community is a playground and pathway network along Osborne Drive, featuring a swale ditch and catch basin for drainage. This park is a picturesque gateway to our newly developed field and future school site which will reinforce a green initiative until the need for a new school unfolds.
Further into the community you will find an abundance of newer locations for different activities. There are options for everyone between the pickleball court, cornhole installations, rope climbing playground, and bicycle pump track.
Great care was taken by the developers to enhance both the community and local environment. The team at Harco are proud to contribute to the reintroduction of native species to the area while creating exciting spaces for residents to enjoy.
